We are building RUST-E from the ground up. We are now seeking Board Members, jury and committee members and volunteers to help develop our goals in philanthropy.

Art Department (arts exhibit construction, maintenance and storage of works, submissions and auction of works, jury)

Volunteer for RUST-E
To apply for any of the above positions, please complete our Adult or Youth application below. Please remember that volunteer placement is a selective process and not all applicants are accepted into the program. RUST-E reserves the right to place volunteers in the area staff feels is best suited to the applicant’s skills and the needs of the Organization A minimum commitment of one year is required for all volunteer positions.
Adult Volunteers

Youth Volunteers
Teen applicants must be between the ages of 14-17. Applicants must:

Board of Directors
Each year, RUST-E solicits nominations for open positions on our Board of Directors with three-year terms. Our Board is comprised of scientist, engineers, media developers, artists and members of the community who have an interest in supporting and promoting the RUST-E philosophy. The Board members represent each emerging discipline in STEM-A helping to facilitate greater awareness globally.
Board of Directors Purpose, Tenure and Responsibilities
I. Board Purpose
To understand and carry out RUST-E's vision and mission by determining governing policies and procedures and monitoring organizational performance. (also annual setting of organizational goals) and to uphold the public trust and take fiduciary responsibility for the organization.
II. Board Tenure
Terms
- elected, 3 years. (Members may serve a total of two consecutive terms.)
Termination
- expiration of normal term.
- resignation in writing to Board President.
- default by 3 consecutive absences from Board Meetings without a valid reason or any attempt to contact the Director or President in advance.
III. Board Responsibilities
Fiduciary
- Maintain annual membership in RUST-E.
- Fundraise or contribute annually an amount that is significant to the individual.
- Review and approve annual budget as formulated by the Finance Committee and staff and assist with follow through to ensure that financial affairs of the organization are conducted in a responsible and legal manner in accordance with established goals and policies.
- Oversee RUST-E Future Endowments and appoint Future Endowment panelists.
- Review RUST-E Future Endowment investment performance and approve annual allocation
Governance
- Prepare for and attend scheduled meetings the fourth Monday of each month as per board schedule.
- Prepare for and attend annual board retreat each fall.
- Volunteer to chair and work on committee(s) or task force of choice or need.
- Assist in formulation of annual goals and objectives for long-range plan.
- Assist in establishing policies for administering programs and services.
- Maintain open, supportive relationship with Executive Director.
- Participate actively in Board discussions and support majority decisions in public, remembering which topics remain confidential.
- Avoid all conflicts of interest and appearances of same.
Community Relations
- Attend other events (such as programs, retreats, Boulder County Art Alliance, STEM-A, Boulder Arts Commission, City Council, SCFD and County Commissioner or Arts for Colorado meetings) that affect arts and culture in Boulder County .
- Serve Act as an ambassador of RUST-E in the community
and serve as a liaison to artists in your discipline or your community and bring feedback from contacts among membership and community at large.

Arts Competition Jury
We are seeking members to create our jury for art competitions and the Festival where we will give the grand prizes to artist who develop artistic pieces and practice, which reflect RUST-E values and philosophies. We are seeking professionals to serve as members of our jury if you are interested in serving on our jury please complete our volunteer form (above) and indicate your desired position and availability.
